Delete your account & data
Ask us to delete your Chekit account and the personal data tied to it. One request covers every Chekit app: the shopper app, Chekit for Business and Chekit Rider.

The quickest way is in the app: open your account or profile screen and tap Delete account. If you no longer have the app, use the form below. Both land in the same place and are handled the same way.
How it works
- We check it is you. We send a code to the phone number or email on the account. Only that code can file the request.
- Your account is locked straight away. You are signed out of every device and nobody can shop, sell or deliver with it. Nothing has been erased yet.
- A person at Chekit reviews it, usually within 7 days. If something has to be settled first, such as an order still on its way or money left in your wallet, we tell you what to do and unlock the account so you can do it.
- Once approved, your personal details are erased and the account cannot be signed in to again.
Changed your mind while it is waiting? Sign in to any Chekit app and choose to keep your account. It unlocks straight away.
What gets deleted
When the request is approved, we permanently erase or anonymise:
- Your name, phone number and email address.
- Your password and PIN.
- Your profile photo, date of birth and national ID number.
- Every signed-in session, and any staff roles or permissions on the account.
What we keep, and for how long
Some records must be kept even after your account is deleted, because the law requires it:
- Transaction, escrow and payment records. Kept for the period required by tax, accounting and anti-fraud law (typically up to 7 years), then permanently deleted.
- Records tied to an open order, dispute or payout. These have to be settled before the account can close.
Records we keep are minimised, access-restricted, and never used for marketing.
